Sept 26, 2005: Current state of my 1964 C20 3 door
Swapped out mirrors and kept the wheels it came with:
16" 8-lug wheels from 70's-80's.
Rattle canned these early this summer and all worked well!
$10 set of hubcaps.
Runs great but need to swap out gears in the Eaton rear end soon!

Some Detail:

This was a stock 1964 Chevy C20 3/4 ton pickup. From what I know it was stretched to a crew cab with 3 doors between 1964 - 1966 for Stageway Coaches, Inc. of Fort Smith Arkansas by Armbruster


Features:

3-door, long bed, small rear window, 350/TH350 automatic, cruise control, 3-fuel tanks: 1 - 20 gal in cab, 1 on either side of the bed frame rails - Not sure of the capacity, dual exhaust w/t glasspack mufflers, black plates, AM/FM Stereo....

Date Acquired: 1/4/2005

Location: Lower Lake, CA

Current Condition:

  • Engine: Runs great & cool! bout 20,000miles on motor installed in 88!

  • Electrical: All working...

  • Body: Average ding's & dent's, minor rot in few locations: roof- front right, rear left floor near door...

Future plans:

  • Steel wheels: 16x.6.5 front & 16x8 in the rear wrapped up in wide white wall radials.

  • Suspension: Bags or shocks & springs??? TBD
    Interior: Make as comfortable as today's SUV's: late model seats front & rear, A/C

  • Body & Paint: straighten it out & spray satin or flat black, leave handles - possibly  convert the false door to a functional door, add the chrome bumpers & grill, maybe even the stainless trim as seen below...
